A Weissman score is a (fictional) test to see the efficiency of a compression algorithm. It was created by Stanford electrical engineering professor Tsachy Weissman and Ph.D. student Vinith Misra. It was believed that the theoretical limit for a Weissman score was 2.9 but this was disproved when the tech startup company Pied Piper achieved Weissman scores up to 5.2.
